Mid-Autumn Festival @ Gardens by the Bay 2015

Oh yay! The sky cleared up for the moon on last saturday! 

After days living behind closed doors and windows due to the bad haze, we just had to get out of our home to get some fresh air on this rare beautiful day. We spent the eve of Mid-Autumn Festival with my parents, smelling refreshing flowers, admiring colourful lanterns and dancing under the moon at Gardens by the Bay. 

Celebration of Chrysanthemums

Drawing inspiration from the pastoral, autumn scenes often depicted in classical east Asian art and literature, the "Celebration of Chrysanthemums" floral display evokes a sense of lyrical peace, tinged with reticent longing. This floral display will run till 10 November at the Flower Dome.

Gardens by the Bay brought in more than 10,000 Chrysanthemums to the Flower Dome and transformed the flower field into a rich tapestry of red, gold and pink.

Pretend Play at Little Planet @ Centrepoint!

The world is but a canvas to the imagination!

Last Sunday, we sent Emma and Laurent on an adventure at the Little Planet @ Centrepoint - a miniature world filled with imaginative and purposeful play.

The two of them had great fun role-playing at the various theme stations, like farm, marketplace and castle, that were built to scale to mimic the grown up's world.

1. Forest Maze

After registration and temperature taking, we walked through a little green canopy.

Right ahead, there was the forest maze where the children get to run around or even have some picnic. There are some nets at the trees for them to keep their treasures or harvest. 

2. Farm

Upon entry, Emma was quick to spot Laurent and rushed to join him at the farm! Both of them then went on to collect their harvest enthusiastically.

To encourage more precious moment with our little one, Friso is generous to indulge us with an awesome play set (Thank you, Friso!). It got to be the best present for our then sick and recovering girl! Emma was so thrilled as it has been a while since she played at the playground. Now, she could play without us worrying too much about the haze!

Our poor Emma was sick for 1.5 weeks and has just recovered. She started off with cough before runny nose and fever attacked. Thus, we kept her at home for 9 days, including 5 days of weekends and public holiday. These 9 days were quite unbearable for her as she can't get out of the house.

She now gets to play with her friends in the school. However, we are still staying in for most days to avoid the haze. So, this indoor play set has come in really timely and fun for Emma!

She loves it so much and kept saying "this one is hui hui's, ok?". She now climbs up and down the slide like a champ!

Her joy was written all over her face!

And not forgetting, climbing up and down the slide helps to build up her physical strength, independence and confidence.

I like the structure of the slide as it has broad seat at the top of the slide for her to get in position. I have seen some that are so narrow and quite dangerous.

We received a goodies-filled gift pack from Zoomoo few weeks back!

Emma and her little lamb couldn't resist and came over to check it out. There were ZooMoo drawstrings bags, activity sheet, sticker sheet with the ZooMoo characters, notebook and a band-like USB thumbdrive loaded with a bunch of exciting ZooMoo videos.

Working parents' challenge 1: Dealing with sick kid(s)

I always do my best to be positive but I experienced a total mixed feeling when it comes to dealing a sick child and work. It's probably more stressful than it seems. There are worries about the health of the child, managing a more-than-usual crankier child, parent's (mummy's) guilt, work commitments and superior's expectation.

King Koil Annual Warehouse Sale 2015!

Last night, we braved the heavy after-work traffic and visited a big King Koil warehouse sale at Sungei Kadut.(Yew Tee area).

After 1.5hours of shopping, we were all sweaty, tired and a little hungry but very happy.

Emma was surprisingly cheerful after the shopping! I believe she had fun shopping around.
